Jean Oxenfort
An important member of the Animal Hospital of University Drive team, Jean Oxenfort has been with the Animal Hospital since it opened its doors 30 years ago. Trained as a nurse, Jean worked at Holy Cross Hospital for five years before moving to the veterinary side of medicine and dedicating her life to the health and well-being of our furry four-legged friends. A former Yorkie breeder and once-upon-a-time member of the dog show circuit, Jean possesses an incredible base of knowledge concerning all things related to dogs and dog breeding.

Marcelle Coelho
Marcelle Coelho, our superstar technician, intern, and doctor-to-be, was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Yes, she speaks Portuguese!). After completing her high school degree in Brazil, Marcelle traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina where she attended North Carolina State University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2001. Marcelle returned to Brazil for veterinary school, where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2006 from the Universidade Federal Fluminense. While in veterinary school, Marcelle met her husband Rafael Dias, a mixed Martial Arts Fighter (you may have seen him on Spike TV!). Together, they decided to move back to the USA, this time to Ft. Lauderdale where they live with a very smart barn cat turned condo kitty, Wheezie, who is on life number 5 (I said smart not lucky). Marcelle has been with the Animal Hospital since 2006 while she completes all the tests to become a licensed veterinarian in the United States. She has already passed her Veterinary Boards and is soon to take the final Practical Exam. We wish her the best of luck!

Aleshia Copeland
Raised in Florida since she was 5, Aleshia is the youngest of three children. She is currently dual enrolled at the University of Phoenix and Broward Community College. She is majoring in Elementary Education with an anticipated graduation date in December of 2009. Aleshia is also the proud mother of a beautiful daughter named Amya (3) whom she absolutely adores! Aleshia and Amya have five dogs- Endo, Spuddy, Daisy, Prince, and Mater. Aleshia loves to read books and play in the park. She enjoys travel and loves scary movies along with many of her daughter's favorite shows such as Dragon Tales, Scooby Doo, Dora, and Diego.

Stacy Fructman
Stacy, our superstar receptionist, has been with the Animal Hospital since 2001. She worked as a medical assistant for a brief time before joining the Animal Hospital team. Stacy has a deep love of reading and a special soft spot for all things Chihuahua. Most of her free-time (and all of her money) is spent caring for her special-needs and medically challenged chihuahua named "Little". She also has a chihuahua named "Shayna" and a lab named "Casey" who you will never hear about or see because "Little" is her first love.

Janelle May
Janelle is the proud mamma of three beautiful daughters- Janiya (8), Jabria (4), and Janicia (2). Janelle will graduate from the University of Phoenix in 2009 with a degree in Medical Administration. In her not-so-spare time Janelle enjoys casino bingo and traveling to visit her family in Georgia. Although she currently has no pets, she is next to adopt whatever hard-luck stray graces our door-step!

Shaundrea "Scoot" Nelson
Shaundrea, affectionately known as "Scoot" is a Ft. Lauderdale native, graduate of Keiser University, and the third of six children. She is also a mother herself to four children, Teighlor (16), Jacoby (14), Jakhai (11), and a little girl Jada (8). Shaundrea is an advocate of cancer awareness and an avid reader. She is also the proud pet owner of a Yorkie named "Junior", a rescued Chihuahua named "Oreo", and a cat named "Cookie". She is thankful to be working at the Animal Hospital of University Drive under the new ownership of Drs. Carl Ansara and Rachel Steele.

Ashley Palmerino
An aspiring veterinarian, Ashley came to us over 2 years ago eager to learn everything there was to know about veterinary medicine. She is currently enrolled at Florida Atlantic University, where she is earning a bachelor's degree in biology. Afterwards, she plans to attend whichever veterinary school accepts her, preferably the University of Florida. While working at the Animal Hospital, she has acquired the "hairless wonder", better known as a yorkie named "Ginger". She also lives with two other dogs, "Caesar", a fat lab and "Lily" an annoying chihuahua.

Jessica Stallard
Jessica has been with the Animal Hospital for over four years. She has been trained as a technician, receptionist, and kennel assistant. She possess a passion for animals and especially enjoys large-breed dogs who do not like anyone, but always seem to like her. Jessica is the proud owner of a cat named "Psycho", a wolf hybrid named "Amber", and a blue-nosed pitt named "Baby Girl". Jessica's hobbies include basketball, football, and music.

Amber Carroll
Married for over 17 years, Amber is the proud mother of two boys- Jacob (18) and Riley (9). Amber has been working with dogs all her life. She has two colby pitt bulls- the very people friendly "Missy" and the not-so-sweet "Zack". In her free time Amber enjoys hiking, bike riding, swimming, cooking, and camping.

Jahneisha Satchell
Born in Syracuse, NY, Janeisha attends Broward Community College where she is majoring in Occupational Therapy. At 20 years old, Janeisha enjoys "living life to the fullest." In her spare time she enjoys reading, gaining useful knowledge to apply to everyday life, and caring for her cocker spaniel named "Princess".
