Our Veterinarians

Veterinarian and part-time piano virtuoso, Dr. Carl Ansara grew up in Pompano Beach. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biology at Florida Atlantic University, he traveled to England to pursue his veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College of London. While in veterinary school, Dr. Ansara met fellow student Rachel Steele. After graduation Dr. Ansara practiced veterinary medicine in Belfast, Ireland before moving back home to South Florida. Dr. Ansara and his wife Dr. Rachel Steele, have been practicing veterinary medicine in Broward County for the past five years. Although he greatly enjoys all aspects of general practice, Dr. Ansara has a special interest in ophthalmology and orthopedic surgery.

A native of Northern Ireland, Dr. Rachel Steele completed her veterinary medical degree at the Royal Veterinary College in London. While there, she met her future husband, Carl Ansara. After graduation the two married and Drs. Ansara and Steele began practicing veterinary medicine in Belfast, Ireland, near where Dr. Steele grew up. Fortunately for us, the two soon decided to relocate to the United States. In addition to practicing veterinary medicine in Broward County since 2003, Dr. Steele has also donated her services to many worthy organizations such as the Broward County Humane Society and Cats Exclusive. Although she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a special interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.
